LIGHTS FOR ESOTERIC PURPOSES - DESCRIPTION

LIGHTS FOR ESOTERIC PURPOSES - DESCRIPTION

On this page we try to define 'Lights for Esoteric Purposes' and to draw some concepts on this concern.

1 - As a Light Source.

2 - As a Light Unit, Lighting Fixture, Luminaire.

1 - As a Light Source.

Category: Apart from all other light sources, if considered as a light source itself.

Main features to be taken in consideration:

- Compact as possible.

- No hazardous. Hard Glass, preferable no high voltage for ignition, no explosion hazard.

- Pleasant in shape, - usually 'egg shaped', preferable single ended (in fact ED/BT).

- Energy efficiency: not important, but more than 25...30 lm/w, the more the best.

- Color rending: not relevant in many cases.

- Lumen maintenance: not relevant, as long the purpose is reached.

- Color change: not relevant in many cases.

- Life time: not important, but at least 6000...8000 h, the more the best.

- Color output: All the colors needed for esoteric purposes, - roughly all colors used for neon signs, thus neon signs themselves are not included.

- Research needed to achieve each type: Yes. However we try here to use what is nowadays available, so in some cases the research should be limited to putting together the tech available in use for now.

- Cost: In the early stage, - as possible, not more than a similar product used for lighting, preferable as low as the mercury lamp of similar shape.

- Particulars: Yes. In some cases we would try to achieve certain spectrum of light. In other cases, if the purpose and the  cost will allow it, some tachyonization, or else. i.e. 'the tachyonized egg-shapped pink light bulb'. (discussion to come)

- Expectance for its achievement: For now, with nowadays tech and in the most simple way, using the mercury lamp as a base, and fluorescent coatings used for 'neon signs' or color fluorescent tubes (but, as long as the UV output of the arc tube and the phosphorous sensitivity of the coating match at a sufficient and convenable degree).
> Main items for the research: the maximal power of a mercury discharge arc tube which does not 'burn out' the florescent coating (which is not so heat resistant for neon-signs), and the UV output with proper wavelengths, in order to irradiate the fluorescent coating for a convenable conversion.

 - The fluorescent coated medium/high pressure mercury lamp as a light source for esoteric purposes:

- The filament led egg-shaped bulb. (discussion to come later...)

2 - As a Light Unit, Lighting Fixture, Luminaire.
